New subsidiary delivers Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery and Disaster Recovery as a Service products and services exclusively to the MSP market

Burlington, MASS., December 19, 2017 – Unitrends, the global leader of all-in-one enterprise backup and continuity solutions, today announced Unitrends MSP, a new wholly owned subsidiary dedicated to delivering Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BCDR) and Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) products to the MSP market. With dedicated R&D, sales, service and support teams, Unitrends MSP provides a best-in-class, scalable solution that enables MSPs to meet the unique needs of their demanding customers.

Unitrends MSP is led by a team of veteran executives, headed by Mike Sanders who serves as CEO of the Subsidiary. Prior to leading Unitrends MSP, Sanders was CEO and co-founder of Cenersys, a network intelligence software platform company, that was recently acquired by IT Glue.

“Backup and Disaster Recovery is now mainstream for every business regardless of size,” said Mike Sanders, CEO of Unitrends MSP. “However, there is a huge unmet need for an enterprise-class BCDR solution that MSPs can leverage to meet the increasingly complex needs of SMBs. The MSP market is currently served by offerings that are often built on inferior technology, white labels of other vendor technology, difficult and non-intuitive to use and are also very expensive. Today, for the first time, there is a cost-effective, enterprise-class, scalable and MSP-manageable solution that has been architected from the ground up to address the unique needs of the MSP market.”

Unitrends CEO Paul Brady asserts, “Unitrends’ technology is uniquely positioned to address business needs in the enterprise all the way down to very small businesses. We believe our recognition in Gartner’s enterprise-focused Data Center Backup and Recovery Magic Quadrant and being named a Visionary in the Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) Magic Quadrant demonstrate technology and cloud service leadership across the broad Backup and Disaster Recovery spectrum.” Brady continues, “We are truly excited about the launch of Unitrends MSP because it enables us to be laser-focused in two key market segments. Our core Unitrends resources can continue to grow our enterprise business and cloud services through execution with our mid-market and enterprise channel partners. While Unitrends MSP delivers enterprise-class value to the MSP segment.”

Unitrends MSP offerings are derived from Unitrends enterprise-class BCDR and DRaaS products enabling MSPs to deliver proven solutions to their customers. Extensively tested by over 50 MSPs in the last year, Unitrends MSP’s range of products have a proven track-record of increasing uptime and confidence for SMBs that need to focus on their business rather than backup. Its configuration workflows reduces the amount of manpower required by approximately 50-75% of competitive offerings and the centralized console ensures backup integrity for every customer with a single glance. Additionally Unitrends MSP provides an open platform, allowing seamless integrations with other MSP-centric solutions such as AutoTask, Connectwise, Kaseya and Solarwinds.

As part of today’s announcement, Unitrends MSP is releasing BackupIQ, an Artificial Intelligence-powered task list and backup advisor for MSPs. This new offering enables technicians to work on the most critical backup issues for the most important machines ensuring that their client’s data is protected. BackupIQ is currently available to new and existing Unitrends MSP customers.

“It’s refreshing to work with a company that fully understands the uniqueness of the MSP market,” stated Ray Orsini, CEO of Orsini IT, a leading MSP. “Unitrends MSP products and services give us the power to better serve our customers, while reducing overall management costs. For the first time, we can deliver enterprise-class BCDR and DRaaS products and services specifically built for the MSP market. These products along with the release of BackupIQ enable us to provide our customers with the best data protection available today, helping expand and deepen those relationships.”
