New All-in-One Enterprise Backup and Continuity Appliance Sales Exceed Previous Marks

Unitrends, the global leader in all-in-one enterprise backup and continuity solutions, today announced record breaking sales of its new Recovery-Series physical appliances. In the first two months after these purpose-built backup appliances were released, orders from new and existing customers have reached an all-time high, with an 86% year-over-year increase in sales. Unitrends also delivered a significant boost to enterprises with unit shipments in this segment growing 236% year-over-year due to a renewed focus on scalability and management of several petabytes of data in a single implementation.

“We reimagined our purpose-built backup appliance to specifically address customer demand for an all-in-one approach that encompasses cloud, local business continuity and data protection. Our new Recovery Series appliances provide greater efficiencies and radically lower TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) by helping our customers improve backup performance,” said Paul Brady, CEO of Unitrends. “The reason for these sales increases are the demand for simple continuity and high availability with recovery assurance delivered via Unitrends Cloud, as well as our disruptive offerings in the enterprise. The market is demanding all-in-one enterprise backup and continuity that allows them to focus on their business rather than backup.”

In addition, Unitrends continued to earn accolades from industry influencers having earned top honors in the DCIG 2016-2017 hybrid cloud backup appliance buyer’s guide (link here). Storage magazine/SearchStorage.com just announced the Recovery Series were also selected as a finalist for the 2016 Products of the Year awards.

“What was so amazing to me was how quickly we were able to begin promoting Unitrends’ new appliances,” said Tracey Hayes, Vice President of Sales at MicroAge. “There is a real gap in the backup and continuity market between entry level products and enterprise-class solutions that Unitrends uniquely fills.”

The Unitrends Recovery Series is a family of 12 all-in-one, purpose-built physical backup appliances that range from 1TB to 180TB, and can protect over 3.6PB in a single implementation. A free physical appliance evaluation unit trial is available by downloading a VMware, Hyper-V, or XenServer virtual appliance.
